The TaiJi Treatise

Y’know – there really isn’t much more that I can say that the original author doesn’t say on his own website.

The Treatise itself is simply a single paragraph, but depending upon how much study you’ve been doing concerning ancient Chinese writings and culture, these things can appear pretty cryptic. You’d think at first blush that the writers were being intentionally vague and mysterious in their works, but the truth of the matter is that in many of these instances there really is no other way to describe what the written word simply hasn’t evolved enough to adequately encompass or iterate.

In this instance, a very good analysis and breakdown of each phrase is provided for you by the author in terms and tone that are all very much in keeping with Taoist traditional thought and feeling. Not much is done in terms of ‘interpretation’ so I wholeheartedly agree with the text as a whole, and so feel no qualms about pointing at it as a valuable resource and sharing it with you here.
